Richard works on the Governance team at OpenAI, where his research focuses on forecasting the capabilities and risks of advanced AI systems. He was previously a research engineer on the AGI safety team at DeepMind. Richard grew up in Vietnam and New Zealand before moving to the UK to study computer science and philosophy at Oxford and earn a master’s degree in machine learning at Cambridge. Richard is a prolific writer and also active on Twitter.
