Thurs, April 11: The Future of Robotics and Computer Vision
Feat. Stanford PhD and Medra founder Michelle Lee
On Thursday, April 11, we’ll be hearing from Stanford roboticist Michelle Lee, PhD, about the future of robotics and computer vision.
Michelle will be giving a talk on the current state and future of computer vision, and why it matters. Then we’ll segue into our usual fireside chat, rapidfire Q&A, and audience Q&A.
Michelle is a Stanford PhD who turned down a tenure-track professor position at NYU to build a computer vision startup, Medra. The company — backed by top investors including Nat Friedman, Lux Capital, and Outset Capital — is at the forefront of laboratory automation, leveraging state-of-the-art robotics and computer vision technologies to streamline wetlab tasks. Medra’s mission is to empower scientists by automating repetitive procedures, ensuring the highest quality standards while accelerating research and facilitating groundbreaking discoveries.
